Plein Air

Plein Airs usually go from 9am to 12pm, but feel free to come and go as you need or stay as long as you'd like.
Plein Air is about leaving the four walls of your studio behind and experiencing painting, drawing, photography or any medium you want in the outdoors. The practice goes back for centuries, but was truly made into an art form by the French Impressionists.
Bring your own supplies, whether acrylics, oils, watercolors, pastels, pencils, ink , clay, camera or just come to enjoy the environment.
It may be tempting to bring all your art supplies - every tube of paint, every color pencil, every you name it - with you when you go outdoors to create, as if you can take your whole art studio with you outside.
Resist that urge at all costs because it means you will be overloaded and have to carry too many things. Instead, choose your supplies with the idea of traveling light. Less is more.
Also keep in mind, that doing a study or a focused area may be a better way to start with as opposed to trying to have a completed piece of artwork in that time frame.
